How to install CabinCRU
Download the installer, run it, start Microsoft Flight Simulator and load a flight. CabinCRU finds the simulator over SimConnect on its own — there is nothing to configure and no file to copy into your Community folder.
Installing step by step

Download the installer
Download CabinCRU-win-Setup.exe from the download button on this page. If you would rather unpack it yourself, take the portable ZIP instead — both update themselves.

Run the installer
Double-click the file. CabinCRU installs into your user profile without asking further questions and starts when it is done. No administrator rights are needed.

Allow it through the firewall
Windows asks once to allow CabinCRU through the firewall for your private network. Allow it. CabinCRU serves its interface on port 54800, and without this permission no other device in your home network can reach it.

Start the simulator and load a flight
Start Microsoft Flight Simulator and load a flight until you are sitting in the aircraft. CabinCRU connects over SimConnect by itself — there is nothing to install into the Community folder and no address to enter.

Set up your flight
In Flight Setup, pull the plan from SimBrief with your username, or enter it by hand: airports, aircraft, passengers and EOBT. Cruise level, bags and fuel are optional.

Start boarding
Open the Flight Deck and start the boarding sequence. From here the cabin runs along with the flight, and calls you when it needs a decision — for example the door clearance at the end of boarding.

Optional: open it on a tablet
Find the local IP address of your sim PC and open it on port 54800 from any device in your home network, for example http://192.168.1.20:54800. You get the full app with the same state, so the simulator can keep the main screen to itself.
What happens on the first flight?
Load your flight plan from SimBrief or enter it by hand, then start boarding. From there CabinCRU follows the aircraft: it recognises pushback, engine start, taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, descent, approach, landing, taxi-in and shutdown from telemetry. If the simulator does something unusual, you can override any phase by hand.
What if CabinCRU does not see the simulator?
Check three things in this order: the simulator is running and a flight is loaded, not just the main menu; CabinCRU was allowed through the Windows firewall for your private network; and no other tool is holding the SimConnect connection exclusively. Restarting CabinCRU is enough in almost every case — the simulator does not need to be restarted.
Installer or portable ZIP?
Both are self-updating; the only difference is where the app lives. The Setup.exe installs into your user profile without asking questions. The portable ZIP you unpack wherever you like, which is the better choice if you keep your add-ons on a separate drive.
