Boarding runs as a real sequence with a delay you can watch: passengers board over a window sized by aircraft category and by the actual passenger and bag counts of your flight plan, and the cabin calls the cockpit for door clearance when it is done.
How does it work in practice?
Check-in, crew briefing, crew boarding, passenger boarding and baggage loading are planned against your EOBT. You start the manual steps; CabinCRU tracks progress per step and marks what starts or runs late. When the last passenger is seated, the cabin calls you for door clearance.
That call is the point of the whole sequence. Boarding is not a progress bar that fills while you wait — it produces a moment where the cabin needs something from you, at a time you did not choose. If you are late, the delay stays with the flight and shows in the status band. Boarding is part of the free version.
